General transport regulations

Traffic control is provided by means of a dynamic digital signage system along the A94 motorway and the roads used to access the venue. Plans of the grounds are also available and should be followed both during the event, and for set-up and dismantling.

  • The regulations of the German Road Traffic Act (StVO) apply throughout the trade fair center grounds and in the trade fair center car parks. The speed limit in the trade fair center grounds is 20 km/h.
  • If you bring vehicles of any kind onto the trade fair center grounds, you do so at your own risk, and you must have a valid permit, access pass, or parking ticket.
  • We ask that you follow the instructions of the Messe München security staff at all times—their job is to control and direct the traffic.
  • The most recent versions of Messe München GmbH's technical guidelines, house rules, and user regulations apply.
  • You may only stop in the designated areas. Marked roads, fire service vehicle access routes, and emergency escape routes (outer doors, hall doors, emergency exits, etc.) must be kept clear at all times.
  • Vehicles may be driven into the trade fair halls only for loading and unloading. Parking in the halls is prohibited.
  • Construction vehicles must not be parked in the trade fair center grounds during the trade fair, unless they are in the allocated parking spaces.
  • Swap bodies may only be parked in the trade fair center grounds for a maximum of 24 hours.
  • Caravans and mobile homes may not be brought into the trade fair center grounds for the purpose of overnight stays,
  • Messe München GmbH reserves the right to remove vehicles, trailers, and full or empty containers of any kind that are parked illegally or in “no stopping” zones without prior notification and at the cost and risk of the person responsible for parking/stopping or the owner. No surveillance or safeguarding of vehicles is provided.

Munich’s low-emission zone

On October 1, 2008, the state capital of Munich introduced a low emission zone. “Emissions stickers” (red/yellow/green) are required to enter the low-emission zone, and all visitors to the city are required to follow this rule, too. All streets within the “Mittlerer Ring” fall in the low-emission zone and a sticker is therefore required for travel within this area. The “Mittlerer Ring” itself is deemed to be outside of the low-emission zone.

Messe München International has teamed up with DEKRA to provide you with a service point, where you can purchase emissions stickers at a cost of EUR 5.
