INHORGENTA MUNICH 2022: a strong impact

October 07, 2021
  • Europe's most important meeting place for the jewelry, watch, gemstone industry
  • High exhibitor participation, almost at pre-COVID level
  • Three questions to CEO Klaus Dittrich

The jewelry, watch and gemstone industries are already preparing intensively for INHORGENTA MUNICH, which will be held in Munich from February 11 to 14, 2022. The International Motor Show IAA Mobility in Munich at the beginning of September impressively demonstrated that it is again possible to have a safe trade fair experience. CEO Klaus Dittrich turns the spotlights on the upcoming INHORGENTA.

Mr. Dittrich, how is the coronavirus crisis affecting INHORGENTA?

We sense a spirit of optimism in the jewelry, watch and gemstone industry, which is reflected in a high exhibitor participation at almost pre-coronavirus levels. The high level of interest confirms INHORGENTA's role as Europe's most important industry get-together. Our partners and customers long for the direct exchange on site—and we ensure a safe trade fair experience. The central element for this is the 3G rule: only those vaccinated, recovered and tested (German: geimpft, genesen und getestet) can participate. And we implemented measures such as well-ventilated halls, clever routing, distancing and hygiene rules. IAA Mobility in Munich at the beginning of September—the first major international event in many months with around 400,000 participants—demonstrated how well this works.

Are there any new developments at INHORGENTA?

A new feature is the highly individualized concept of the CARAT AREA in Hall C1, which enabled us to convince top-notch international brands such as Abouchar, Faerber Collection, Gustav Caesar, Herbert Stephan and Horovitz & Totah to exhibit at INHORGENTA for the first time. Overall, we witness a particularly high demand in the Carat, Timepieces and Fine Jewelry segments, with Bloch, egf Manufaktur, Frieden and leBebé also new on board, for example. Of course, there are also many reputable returners, including Bering Time, Citizen, Coeur de Lion, Corinna Heller, Eva Strepp, Lacroix and Spirit Icons. And after its successful premiere in 2019, Salon Suisse will once again be a major attraction, along with the Watch Boutique with Belchengruppe and Cyrus Watches among others.

Which topics will the trade show focus on in particular?

From the exhibition to the Trendfactory: the key topics of "Innovation & Future Retail" and "Inspiration & Sustainability" will be a common theme of the trade show. After all, the entire industry must face up to the consequences of digitalization, especially for the retail sector, and its responsibility regarding sustainability.

The INHORGENTA AWARD is particularly important to me: for the fifth time, exceptional jewelry, watches, retail concepts and designers will be honored by a top-class jury in an exclusive, festive setting.
