It will be the highlight of INHORGENTA MUNICH: the INHORGENTA AWARD will be presented during Europe's leading trade show for watches, jewelry and gemstones for the fifth time. The expert jury has now selected three finalists in each of six categories; in addition, there will be the nominees from the “Retailers Choice” online voting. The winners will be announced and celebrated by the who's who of the industry at a gala evening on April 9. INHORGENTA MUNICH will open its doors from April 8 to 11.
“Unique jewelry and watches, innovative techniques and exceptional design: the INHORGENTA AWARD honors superior craftsmanship and creativity and presents them with a prestigious stage at INHORGENTA MUNICH,” explains Klaus Dittrich, Chairman and CEO of Messe München.
Timeless jewelry, elegant and with lasting value—these are the qualities of the “Fine Jewelry” category, with jewelry pieces starting at a retail price of €1,000. Here, due to a tie, another candidate was nominated, so the finalists are: Autore Europe, Bigli, Ipar Gioielli und Nanis Italian Jewels. The category “Fashion Jewelry” addresses jewelry as accessory of latest fashion trends and with a retail price of less than €1,000. Here, the nominees are BERND WOLF, COEUR DE LION and Cuckoowelen.
Unparalleled design, innovation and craftsmanship will be honored in the category “Designer of the Year”. Breuning, ED | T. Ehrig Design | Engineering N. Drösser and Brigitte Adolph can hope for the award here. Future talents compete in the “Design Newcomer” category with self-made jewelry or watches, with Carbon Ring, 202 EDITIONS and Lena Grewenig taking the top spots here.
The “Watch Design” category is also determined by the special nature of the design. In this case, Citizen Watch Europe, Frederique Constant and MeisterSinger were convincing. And in the “Next Generation Retail” category, the trendsetting retail concepts of egf Manufaktur/Lukas Grewenig, Juwelier Böckelmann and PERSN earned a nomination.
“Every year, each piece of jewelry reflects so much passion and dedication—it is fascinating to see,” says jury member Anja Heiden, Member of WEMPE’s Executive Board. Also in the jury are: watch expert and author Gisbert L. Brunner, Sarah Fabergé (Director of Special Projects Fabergé), Jantje Fleischhut (Professor of New Craft Object Design), Siems Luckwaldt (Lifestyle Director “Capital” and “Business Punk”), jewelry designer Leo Mathild, designer Patrik Muff, founder and editor-in-chief Katerina Perez, and Nina Schwichtenberg, blogger and fashion label owner.
This week, industry professionals are invited to vote for their favorites in the “Retailers Choice” voting on the INHORGENTA website. The finalists in the “Best Pieces of Jewelry” and “Best Watch” categories will be posted on the website next week.
